COMPANY HISTORY
Eric Kytola is a Certified Public Accountant with years of experience as both an auditor and Finance Director for local government.
After graduating from the University of Oregon with an accounting degree Eric began working as a staff accountant on a team performing governmental audits where he identified the role of Finance Director as one that interested him. He wanted to directly serve the citizens of the community with integrity and transparency. He also wanted to lead an exceptional finance team by hiring, actively mentoring, and empowering staff.
Eric is passionate about helping local governments with accounting and financial leadership assistance. He has been the Finance Director for two small Oregon cities. Both faced substantial challenges and were in desperate need for someone to step in and accomplish critical tasks. He finds helping in these situations to be rewarding.
The City of Canby contacted Eric about filling the interim Finance Director. The situation was complex, with staff unhappiness, staff turnover and undocumented routine processes being the main hurdles. Eric took the challenge to heart. He hired, trained and mentored new staff. He created comprehensive process documentation for each of the roles in Finance. Eric created a thorough and detailed set of templates to help with the creation of the budget, that both increased accuracy and was substantially more efficient.
Eric is passionate about cycling and has raced and ridden his bike in Oregon for decades. Mountain biking is a particularly exciting hobby as it gets him into nature, keeps him active and is an exceptionally fun way to spend time with his friends and family.
